We were approached by a hotel owner from Rivne with a fairly common problem — the emergency exit from the building was not designed for people with disabilities. Back then, it was just a long staircase in a narrow corridor (just over a meter wide). A person in a wheelchair could not get up these stairs either on their own or with help. And this was a problem that we managed to solve. We have a compact stair lift with a folding platform in our arsenal. This is the solution we implemented in this project.
The inclined lift is mounted directly to the wall, which saves a few extra centimeters in extremely limited space. The length of the downhill is more than three and a half meters, and thanks to the reliable configuration of the equipment, this descent is smooth and safe for the passenger. Operating the platform is simple and straightforward, just lower the guardrail and press the relevant button. After lowering the guardrail, the ramp automatically rises, which in the active state of the lift serve as protective sides that prevent the wheelchair from rolling off the platform. All this provides a convenient and safe way for a person in a wheelchair to get up the stairs.
