FORSTOR has completed another project for UkrGasVydobuvannya— a specialized racking system for a core storage warehouse.
This time we faced a particularly large-scale taskwe had to equip a large warehouse for core storage with racking systems — for 4000 boxes with rock samples. Each of these boxes weighs 1000 kg, so the racking system had to meet extremely high load-bearing and stability requirements. That's why we used Profi racking systems for this project, were designed to handle up to 18,000 kg per section. In addition, we used reinforced metal shelves each supporting up to 2,000 kg at all storage levels.
In order to maximize space utilization of the warehouse space, we needed high-rise racking — 11,200 mm in height and row lengths of 23440 mm. This solution ensured optimal weight distribution across the racks and ensured maximum storage density for 4,000 core boxes without losing the strength of the racking structure. Given the height of the storage systems and the weight of the boxes, we implemented enhanced racking protection measures: we installed corner guards and end-of-row protectors on all racking sections.
As part of this project, our company engaged an independent laboratory to assess the operational properties of the racking systems. An independent expert commission conducted all relevant tests in accordance with DSTU EN 15635 standards and confirmed that the racks fully comply with all requirements.
